Games, building worlds & AI bias
Some thoughts for the weekend
Today, we’ll ponder virtual world creation and dive into AI biases.
First, in their latest podcast, Andreessen Horowitz talk about the role of AI in creating games and virtual words. Creating such virtual worlds (as found in games and VR applications) is currently a huge challenge because much of it is “handmade”. In the future, these could be created by AI, vastly reducing cost and time of production.
The snippet shared in the tweet below is really interesting in this context:
Wow, it's out 😎. A conversation with @a16z's @JackSoslow and @Chen on Generative AI and the future of #gaming.
I had an absolute blast! (although podcasts can be a bit stressful🫣). Tks Jack and Lester for sharing some deep thoughts & kudos to the A16z team for pioneering this. http

Second, AI bias is a hot topic. So much so that OpenAI just released an interesting blog post on their own perspective on the topic:
We’re clarifying how ChatGPT’s behavior is shaped, our plans for improving it, addressing biases & allowing user customization. We’re also exploring ways to get more public input on decision-making. http
